One Response to Learn

  1. I am a book lover. When I go to the library I feel as if I’m going into an ice cream parlor, and the flavor options excite me. I’m determined to pass this on to my kids, so every summer we set goals for how many books we want to read. One year my oldest daughter announced the goal of 200 books. She was five and not reading yet, so that meant that I read 200 books to her (and there can be no repeats–we barely made it). If nothing else our goals get us to the library and get us to the books hidden at the back of the bookshelf. This year I found a website that allows you to log your books and earn points for a charity:www.scholastic.com/summerreading/gardengame/index.htm. There’s a program for older readers and this garden one for younger readers so as you watch your garden grow, your children’s minds will also. Happy reading!
