“Mom is a Meanie” or “Should Small Children Have Freedom of Speech?”

P1060484

It’s true, I am.

This note was anonymously, slowly, scraggedly pushed under my bedroom door yesterday morning after someone was rotten to their little brother and subsequently denied his morning “kids show on the kids channel.”  We don’t have cable at home (just way too much Reading Rainbow) so Nick Jr. is big time cherished on vacation.

My favorite part was when he opened the door, walked over right next to me and smugly watched me read the note, then gave a little satisfied nod and walked out.  I called after him “Ha!  You can write all the notes you like brother, but you’re still not watching Little Bill.”

Have you ever received any notes from your children?

Amber, I loved the bit about freedom of speech. Your writing style is so fresh….. and your kids are so cooperative, giving you such great material. Look out Seinfeld, you have competition!
