Problem: Of course I, like every other girl in this hemisphere, love real frozen yogurt. You know, the pick- your-one-of-three-flavors (one usually being green tea, blech) and-choose-a-fruit-for-topper type. However, I am not willing to spend $4.50 a pop; that’s expensive enough when it’s just me with a hankering, and it’s never ever just me with a hankering.
Solution: I bought a large carton of whole milk plain yogurt, whisked in a little sugar to taste, a dash of vanilla extract, and popped it in my ice cream maker (you could also freeze it a container and scoop out). My kids were up on the counter, fighting to lose an spoon-holding hand to the swirling machine… and when I tasted the goods I joined right in on the danger. Clean and creamy and refreshing, it was insanely good. We had some mango laying around, so we topped our pure white perfection with that, but the possibilities are really endless. And so, so delicious.
